October 26-27-28-29-30---Time for another inspection

Wednesday the only thing done was a bit of electrical work. Thursday would be the big day! The support beams...the 1000 lb beams go up!

Thursday - Beams go up. Phone wires cut...no Internet, no WIFI or phones for a few days...I thought Chaz would go nuts!!! But we are back and running obviously...I am posting:-)
Dinner and bowling night out with some Ya Ya ladies and 300 Bowl!! Fun night and no I did not cook again.

yep that is a hole in my staircase!



Look at all the spirits we let out!! They too are ready for a new place! Look at the dance they are doing!





Support Beams up - Spirits dancing and Internet, WIFI and phones back on and no workers on Friday...Zena can relax and enjoy her peace and quiet!

Friday night...went to order furniture...already had it picked out. Thought, hey this will be easy just go finalize the order give them a deliver date and then on to watch the game with some friends...NO!!! NOT TONIGHT!!! 4 HOURS LATER WE GET THE ORDER DONE and the Texas Rangers were going downhill fast!!! So sad...but hey ou gotta show up...we shoulda won on Thurs night!

Dinner - Buffalo burger at Fuddruckers...Yumm great way to end the night!

Saturday - Double Header and shopping for granite! No cooking again...party at Cooke's!

Star Beach...it even has a little sparkle here and there...this will be the island.

Back splash design we like ...the white and black one.

No for tomorrow...inspection...then things should be moving fast!

October 25 - Tuesday - Baby it's cold inside!

WE HAVE AIR CONDITIONING!!! AND LIGHTS IN OUR BEDROOM

Yes the electrician was here today!!! We now have air and lights!!! Big scarry holes gone and drying just fine. No major work until Thursday, but to me GETTING AIR IS MAJOR!!!

Wild Rice with Mushrooms...Yep it is cooking in my bedroom... on our antique hutch! Yep that wine is for the cook...not for the cooking:-)




Scooter Spice and Tilapia...no need for anything more...grill it up!





Grilled Green beans with Olive oil and garlic...oh my!!! I have a new recipe.
Go to HEB and for 99cents get you one of those screens for your grill. Take fresh green beans, olive oil and garlic. coat evenly and grill!! so delish!!



Grapefruit for dessert! FYI don't eat grapefruit then take a sip of wine!! NASTY!!!



I do believe Bill is licking his lips!...Yep it was that good. But if they think I will get used to cooking this way they are wrong!

October 24 - Monday - The scary holes Pass

Contractor shows up...puts his finishing touches on the scary holes!

Then the call is made. dun dun dun...to the CITY!!!

Permit needs to be approved for scary holes is this going to be another drawn out fiasco????

NO NO NO!!!

It is not :-)  We are approved and the concrete truck is on his way!!! Please Fill those Scary Holes!!

We have NO AIR!! We have no lights in our Room!!! But our scary holes are filled and Zena is on this side of the concrete:-)

Tonight it's a feast of Jamaican Wings, Corn on the cob and Salad...and of course WINE!!! and yes tonight we dine in again at the "T-Cube"

We are trying out some new decor.Tonight we dine with the art sculpture of Insulation. The way the pink accents the brown paper and the few touches of sheet rock and mold added in. Trust me you have to see it to appreciate its beauty!

No they are not burnt...they are deliciously blackened with some Jamaican jerk rub!!! I know your mouth is watering now.

Don't you love our fine china and flatware...only the best for us! LOL

October 23rd, The day of rest

Today I feel like I was able to get some order. We can't eat out every night or I won't fit in my house! Time to get the plan in order so along with my construction issues...I will blog our survival meals.

Tonight we dined on Grilled Steak, Potatoes and Zucchini...and wine of course...all while watching the Texas Rangers win the game!

Had to set up a table inside...the mosquito's are awful!!! what the hell happened!! we went from none to WTF!!!! I smell like citronella and they are still biting. So here is to the new indoor set up at the Tasty Talab Table for Three...named by Chaz it is now the "T-Cube" Diner

October 22nd - You want to put what in my house!!!

2 BIG ASS HOLES INSIDE THE HOUSE

AND 3 OUTSIDE THE HOUSE!

Off to baseball game while Bill stays home to wait for the crew to start digging the holes...Yep deep scary holes for the piers... Was ready for some Shake Russel...but instead had to wait on these, didn't finish up til 4:00...No Shake tonight:-(   and for those of you that know who Zena is...I had nightmares finding her in this hole! We kept it very well covered!

October 21 - TGIF!!!

Not much happened on Friday...So looking forward to the weekend and going to see Shake Russel at an outside concert!! Woo hoo...away from the sauna!

October 20th-Thursday...were camping!

The electrician visits and leaves new wiring and a pile of insulation. Oh and one more thing or two...He cuts off most of the electricity to our bedroom so we have to run some extension cords to the alarm clock and coffee maker, the oh so important morning items...but the main oops is...HE CUT OF THE POWER TO THE AC!!! OK you say, but the nights are very comfortable...BULLS&^$%...after the windows have been closed all day and it is 85+ outside...you come home to a hot mess! We look for reasons to leave the house!

October 19th - The walls are coming down

Day 2 on the demo. The walls come down and we can see from oneside of the house through to the other! YEAH!!!

October 18th - The destruction begins

Day 1 and no time is wasted. First I get the call that the Dumpster is being delivered and he is at your driveway where do you want it...You see we are on a corner and have a very short driveway. So my answer is what the heck, drive over the grass...it is mostly dead from the drought you can't hurt it. Once dumpster in place along comes Lupe and his crew ready to begin the demo and of course I had the dumpster put in the wrong way. Oh well, the crew managed to fill it up anyway.

October 17, 2011-Monday we get the News

We have been waiting to hear those words since this SUMMER!!! We FINALLY get the call! The permit has been approved and we will start tomorrow! WHAT!!!! But I am at work and I still have stuff to move!! When will I do it??

But no! No time wasted, packed up the den, got rid of the furniture and moved the cooking area and pantry to the master bedroom. Yep, it is now a kitchen, bedroom, den, mess!!!

Being that this all happened so fast, I had not even started to plan. I had no groceries, and no time to start. So for the first week we will be eating out every night.

But I wanted to blog and post when I can the progression we have had and how we have helped go through it. Please keep us in your prayers!
