I wouldn't hire my contractor to build a doghouse for Zena!!! It is a bit ridiculous that we are not done yet!!! He still has just a few things to do but it takes forever to get on the same page. I know people say all contractors are alike...no...this one is all on his own! Great sub's but awful contractor. This job should have been finished and could have been finished before Thanksgiving if there weren't so many errors and delays on his part. Yes the permits took a while...but hey...if you did it right the first time..it would have passed the first time. If you knew what you were doing and not making shortcut's it would have passed. Today we are having floors cleaned and sealed , major $$$$, but no choice contractor left such a mess on the grout! Never covered it after installed as he said he would... But the good news is...Once they clean and seal the furniture gets to come in the house!!!Not sit in the garage as it has for the past month and a half!!! and that was after rescheduling the delivery 3 times! Cabinets are lined and starting to unpack!

OK enough of my bitching...I could go on for days!!! LOL

December 18th---or the latest in the saga!!

What happened this week??? Not enough!
Cabinets stained, floor actually covered with paper...were they cleaned before...probably not.
paint started but ran out of paint...go figure not enough bought, but wait now the contractor has gone and drawn on the walls so that the sheetrock/floated guy can come back out to fix all his marks...with they paint..no never showed up.
Vent moved and put in, holes patched? Vent is crooked...and why is it in before the paint is finished...who knows.

I can tell you that on out part..we finished the 1/2 bath, put in the toilet and vanity that they were supposed to do? At least 1 thing is done in my house!

Dec 16th - Week of 1/2 bath paint and repaint

THis week I decided to do something that I could control the timeframe...because when  you rely on a contractor...you can't. If they tell you 2 weeks what they really mean is they only work 1 day per week so 2 weeks reallly equals 14 weeks!!!


Anyway the half bath saga..started on Dec 16th...Tissue papered the wall...kilz the wall...painted the room...hated it! Let's now rip everything down wallpaper and all. Redo wall texture and paint again!

December 11---2 steps forward---3 steps back

NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN WILLI DO A MAJOR PROJECT LIKE THIS DURING THE HOLIDAY SEASON!!! ( Of course I was told it would be done sooner that it is!)
It is one thing to not be able to fix Thanksgiving Dinner, but it is another when you don't get to put up Christmas decor in your house, You don't get to have the Christmas party that you have had for the past 29 years, you don't get to get toys for the children from the party as you have done for the past 23 years, you don't have a bedroom for your children to come home to for the holidays because the room is full of boxes, We won't wake up Christmas morning and be able to cook a Christmas breakfast because who know if we will have a fricken oven or even a stove ...No not this year...this is our Christmas this year and it truly has sucked all the fun out of one of my favorite times of the year for me. I know I get a new room in the longrun, but the carless mistakes and problems that have come up should never have happened and it just drags this SH$$ out longer and longer!

Anyway this is where we are now...As for cooking...what is that? The last time I cooked was beef stew last week. We eat out every night because we have to pick paint, get stain, find door, yada yada yada...something every night.

Maybe after I get the paint in the spare bath they will put in the fricking toilet!!  Do I sound the slightest bit bitter!! LOL

We have 80% of the cabinets up. We are told they will begin to stain them tomorrow...not sure how that goes when the doors are not all in...the shelves are not in place???

And they are supposed to paint the rest of the rooms...but we have extra holes in the ceiling, vent off center by 3 inches so we will have another hole made and patched in the ceiling, windows not floated yet...but we have a painter scheduled?? Whatever, but here are some of the highlights: The cabinets do look beautiful and we love the crown!

dECEMBER 1ST - MORE OF THE FLOAT BUT THEN dEC 2ND!!! FLOOR

Floor begins being installed...1/8" Grout as requested, as signed in contract???NO!!! But entire room is done and we are not going to rip it up. Hell it may be another year if we do that...no more delays!

November 29-Count your Blessings not Your troubles

Our hearts and prayers are with the Baker family today and we remember sweet Lo. Our blessings are many and full. A wonderful Thanksgiving weekend in Schertz with the family. Now home to a mess...but it is home and progress is being made.

Tape and float was worked on today...huge mess still remains...I hope the clean up crew is coming soon. Ususally it is clean when they leave...not so much lately
